She is most well-known for her role as Lieutenant Sheba in the television series Battlestar Galactica (1978-1979). She is the granddaughter and daughter of actors Gene Lockhart, as well as the actress June Lockhart. Lockhart's acting career began when she was a child. After she read the first 25 pages of the script The Living Legend she accepted the part immediately. The show ran for just one season. She was a co-star with Desi Arnaz Jr. (son of Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball) Melanie Griffith and Robert Carradine in the film Joyride (1977) as well as co-starred along with Michael Moriarty in the horror film The Dark Tower (1987).
